Florida Comes to Maine!

We woke up Sunday morning to fog and rain again. Since we are expecting company we decided to use the morning to get boatkeeping jobs done. Jane cleaned below decks and made up the guest cabin. Peter motored to the dock to pump out our holding tanks and fill up with fresh water. Then the final laundry run to wash & dry floor mats & towels. By the afternoon it was still damp. The fog rolled and the fog rolled out all day long. We discovered we were out of deisel so we went in the dingy to Brown's wharf to get a 5 gal. can filled. That will take us for a few hours of recharge before we fill up to leave on Wed.

Sunday afternoon our friends from Solivita arrived by RV in Boothbay Harbor. We met them in town and dingied out to the boat. In the dingy is Paula, Francine, Barbara, Jane, and Peter headed to the boat (with the beer). Tom, Charlie, and Bob waited on the dock for the second trip in the dingy. After a quick boat tour we sat outside in the cockpit to keep the fog company. Welcome to a Maine summer day! What fun we had. That's Barbara taking a picture of the whole group. From L-R is Charlie & Francine, Tom & Paula, Jane & Peter. Sorry, Bob, we had no picture of you to post but thanks to Barbara for taking our group photo. After cocktail hour the group moved to the Tugboat Inn for dinner. Charlie, Francine, & Barbara got their lobster dinners. Before saying good by we introduced them to the Boothbay Ice Cream factory for dessert. Delish!!! We watched them leave on their bikes and wish them well on their future trip to Newfoundland.
