Summer in Boothbay

Finally, on August 1, 2009 we had our first full day of summer. It was glorious all day. The sun was shining, no humidity, and a gentle breeze to keep everything cool. It was great for the boat because I opened all the hatches and everything dried out. This morning the hatches were dripping from condensation through the night. Once I was up and put Pretzel out on deck I was greeted by the sight of "Tigger", a motorboat moored beside us. We could have stepped on board we were that close. A few minutes later I noticed we were not swinging like the other boats and discovered we were hung up on a lobster pot. So Peter flagged down a lobster boat and they dragged it some distance away from us. We only made a few trips ashore today...mostly for Pretzel, but spent our time enjoying the view, boat traffic, and weather. In the afternoon there was a boat parade of traditional motor boats, all gleaming with ladies in straw hats and flowers in the cabins. Quite a sight! We had a wonderful dinner on the boat with steak, veggies & potatoes done on the grill....and a nice bottle of wine.
Oh, we had another successful morning with Pretzel going on the boat. Enjoyed our coffee again. Now if we could only eliminate that last night trip in at 10PM it would be PERFECT!!

We had a lovely day here on the Cape as well. I have been watching the birds (need your help to identify some of them)We went to the driving range and Ryan filmed Pat with his new camera, then made a film which he put on Youtube and linked into my blog. As you can see, I have joined the 'Blogging' community, mainly so that my Mum and Kerry can follow what we are up to over here
