The day started out cold---overnight in the low 50's. At 8:30AM our installer for the water maker arrived. We were ready for him, getting everything put away and opening doors & floor boards. After a quick look we lost out on our bid to have the main unit under the companionway steps....not enough room. So we lost our "wine cellar" area in the bilge and also most of our pot/baking pan cabinet. Jane found room for everything under the sink and stove but it's like a jigsaw puzzle. Anything that comes out has to be put back exactly in the same place or it won't fit!! At least there is no room for movement while sailing! Anyway work ceased at 4PM and will finish up tomorrow. Unfortunately we can't test the unit out here because the water is so dirty. It's definitely more of a back creek than ocean inlet. Looking forward to getting the work done and everything put back into place. The best part is that the company has worked on other Jeanneau boats like ours because the headquarters for Jeanneau. is in Annapolis and there are more here than in Newport. The installer, Ron, knew the boat systems and spaces well.
Peter found this great space for the watermaker monitor!

Yesterday Peter had to ride to West Marine again to get an extension wire for our new handheld VHF for the cockpit. (Thank goodness for the bikes!! They are a lifeline here to get around.) When he returned he discovered that there was already one pulled through to the helm and the new Icom plug fit the older plug perfectly! So now we can return it when we pick up the spare solonoid for our propane tomorrow. Hoping our cockpit enclosure sides are ready by the weekend since there is a prediction of rain. (well 50-60%)
