Days 20-22 Oct. 6-7-8

The water maker installation was finished up on Tuesday by noontime. We are very happy with the whole process. Unfortunately we won't get to test it until we leave Florida for the Bahamas. You can not run it in dirty waters...meant for offshore use. We have both been working on the boat....cleaning & waxing the fiberglass deck, re taping, installing a new radio, fixing locks, etc. It looks like our canvas won't be done until Tues. or Wed. so we need to keep busy.

Yesterday we left Pretzel around 5:30 to dingy over to the Annapolis harbor area to look for our friend, Eric. He sailed single handed on his boat from the marina in Portsmouth, RI to here. As we were motoring around the anchorage we spotted Eric trying to set his anchor. We had a celebratory beer then went ashore for dinner. We look forward to seeing his wife, Jenn, and Ben & Josh when they arrive here later today. We hope to get into the boat show over the next few days and do a bit of socializing. It seems like a long haul sitting here on the dock with few people around us.

While waiting for Eric to anchor, Peter spotted a rowing vessel that looked much like a currough, an Irish rowing boat. Sure enough it was a racing version, built here, and the team of 4 on it belong to an Irish rowing club in Annapolis. You can see their web site painted along the bow. In the background is the Severn River and the beginning of Annapolis Harbor. All those boats are anchored for the boat show. It's become very crowded out there!
